“new normal” doesn’t have to be this way


Over the past two decades that I have been privileged to be making and selling our Digestif Reset System and Hormony Drinks powder, I have had countless conversations with medical and nutritional doctors, health “gurus” and various people claiming to be health “experts”, and many of them were trying to make a point that the various illness that are plaguing our modern societies today such as diabetes, dementia, cancers, heart attacks, ADHD, etc have been with us almost from the very beginning. When I hear this said, especially if I speak to people in their 60’s or older, I always ask the same question – when you went to school, how many of your classmates had Type 2 diabetes? How many of them wore glasses to help them with their vision? How many of them had ADHD? How many of their grandparents had dementia or Alzheimer’s? How many of them had cancer or had heart attacks? The answer to these questions invariably seems to be “none”. So, here is the question – if the issues that have now can only be described as endemic but were almost non-existent 40 to 60 years ago, what has happened over this relatively short period of time that had made those illnesses common place today? The obvious thing that springs to mind are increases in our lifestyles – we are less active then we were a few decades ago with market increase in office based working – tremendous changes in our diets – chemical additives in our food supply and marked increase in popularity of ready-meals with fewer families cooking from scratch at home – and, in my opinion most important, exponential increase in our use of prescription medications. All these things combined are having insidious effect on our health however, with just few lifestyle changes, you can break this cycle and experience the innate power of your body’s ability to heal itself, opening a possibility not only living for longer but living a healthier life.

Firstly, exercise – of course, going to a gym 4 to 5 times a week for an hour or two will have a positive effect on improving your physical and mental health but I do appreciate that this option, as easy as it sounds, may not be suitable for everyone and the easiest thing you can do, which will cost you nothing, is walking – go for a 30 minute walk around your neighbourhood first thing in the morning before you set-off for work and last thing at night before you go to bed – pretend you are taking a dog out for a walk. Secondly, try to moderate your alcohol intake – limit yourself to drinking no more than a bottle of wine per week or 3 pints of beer; you will see improvements not only in your physical appearance but also in clarity of your thinking within a few weeks of doing so. Try to have three meat free days per week – have a salad or a vegetarian pasta dish and not only will you start noticing improvements in your joint and muscle pains, but it will save you some money too.

If you are looking to experience almost immediate improvements in health – I am talking visible results in days, rather than weeks – try stopping drinking any liquids, including water, from plastic containers; invest in a good-quality metal container (nothing that is made in China) fill it up with water and drink throughout the day. It sounds so simple (and it is!) but you will notice your health and clarity of mind improve tremendously because of this.
